Skin Booster Treatment in Istanbul: Deep Hydration with Hyaluronic Acid

When moisturisers no longer seem to help and your skin feels tight and dry, a skin booster may be an option. Dr. Nil Yazıcı assesses your suitability and plans each area – face, neck, décolletage or hands – separately; patients travelling to Istanbul can start with an online consultation.

A skin booster is a treatment in which hyaluronic acid is injected into the skin in small, evenly spread amounts to support its moisture capacity and texture. Unlike a dermal filler, it is not used to add volume or change shape, but to support the skin itself. In Istanbul, Dr. Nil Yazıcı plans skin booster treatment for the face, neck, décolletage and backs of the hands after an examination.

Why a physician’s assessment matters

The right area, the right density

Skin booster products differ in density and intended use; what suits the neck or the backs of the hands may not be what is chosen for the face. Dr. Nil Yazıcı selects the product and the distribution technique separately for each area, and decides where and at what depth the hyaluronic acid is placed based on her examination findings. A reminder: a skin booster does not add volume – its purpose is to support the skin. About Dr. Nil Yazıcı

Who may consider it?

A skin booster is most often considered when the issue is skin quality rather than volume:

  • Skin that feels dry, tight and rough, and does not respond well enough to skincare
  • Fine lines that have become more visible because of dryness
  • Thinning, crêpey-looking skin on the neck, décolletage or backs of the hands
  • Anyone who wants to complement fillers or botulinum toxin with better skin quality
  • Skin that looks noticeably worn after seasonal or climate changes, or a lot of sun

What can it help with?

Dryness and tightness
The main aim of a skin booster is to support the skin's ability to hold moisture. Other options for dry skin can also be discussed at the examination.
Dryness-related fine lines
The aim can be to soften superficial lines; deeper expression lines need a different approach.
Rough texture
The goal is for the skin surface to feel smoother and more supple.
Thinning skin on the neck and hands
Thin, crêpey-looking skin in these areas can be given hydration and texture support.

Treatment areas

Face

Evenly spread micro-injections across the cheeks, forehead and jaw area to support skin quality.

Neck

For horizontal neck lines and thin neck skin, a product with a density suited to this area is chosen.

Décolletage

Aims to support hydration and texture where sun damage has left a crêpey look.

Backs of the hands

Can be planned to support skin quality where the skin has thinned and veins look more prominent.

How it works

  1. Examination

The degree of dryness, the skin's elasticity and your target areas are assessed. This is also where you discuss whether a skin booster or another option – such as mesotherapy or polynucleotides – is more suitable. If you live abroad, an online consultation can come first, with the final assessment in person in Istanbul.

  2. Choosing the product and technique

The appropriate hyaluronic acid density for each area, whether a needle or cannula will be used, and the number of sessions are decided.

  3. Treatment

The skin is prepared and numbing cream is applied if needed. The hyaluronic acid is injected in small amounts so that it spreads evenly across the area.

  4. Review and maintenance

Your skin's response is monitored between sessions. Once the plan is complete, a maintenance interval is agreed together to help sustain the effect.

Sessions and treatment plan

Sessions and maintenance

An initial plan usually consists of 2–3 sessions, 3–4 weeks apart. Because hyaluronic acid is naturally broken down by the body over time, the effect is not permanent; many plans include a maintenance session every 4–6 months. This interval can vary with the product used, the area and the individual's skin.

What to expect, and when

  1. First 24–48 hours

Small bumps, mild swelling or redness may appear at the injection points; these usually settle within 1–2 days.

  2. First week

Small bruises may appear at some points while the skin surface recovers.

  3. Weeks 2–4

Changes in hydration and texture mostly become visible during this period; the second session is usually done within this window.

  4. After the plan

The effect may last several months depending on the person; the timing of a maintenance session is set at your review.

Aftercare

To help the hyaluronic acid settle after a skin booster:

  • Do not massage or press on the treated area
  • Avoid make-up for the first 24 hours
  • Avoid saunas, steam rooms, sunbeds and strenuous exercise for 48 hours
  • Pause retinol and acid-based products for a few days
  • Use sunscreen regularly
  • Contact your physician immediately if you notice significant pain, skin discolouration or increasing swelling

Limits and important considerations

A skin booster is not suitable for everyone and does not meet every expectation:

  • It is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • It is postponed if there is an active infection, cold sore or inflamed acne in the treatment area.
  • It is not performed in people with a known allergy to hyaluronic acid or to the local anaesthetic in the product.
  • Blood thinners, clotting disorders and certain autoimmune conditions must be mentioned beforehand.
  • It does not correct volume loss, sagging or a lack of structural support; for these, options such as dermal fillers are considered.
  • The effect is temporary and varies from person to person.

Skin booster treatment with a trip to Istanbul

Because the initial plan involves a few sessions 3–4 weeks apart, trips for patients coming from abroad are planned accordingly – and the 4–6-month maintenance rhythm fits well with occasional return visits. Online consultation before you travel, help with airport transfer, accommodation and interpreter support, and remote follow-up are all available. Frequently asked questions

Is a skin booster a filler?

No. Both can use hyaluronic acid, but a skin booster is injected in small, widely spread amounts and aims at hydration and skin texture. A filler is used to add volume or support to a specific area.

How many skin booster sessions are needed?

Initially, 2–3 sessions 3–4 weeks apart are usually planned. After that, a maintenance session every 4–6 months is often recommended to sustain the effect; the exact plan is set at the examination.

When will I see results?

Once the small bumps of the first days have settled, the skin may already feel more hydrated. Changes in texture mostly become visible within 2–4 weeks and build with each session.

Is a skin booster the same as a youth injection?

Not exactly. A skin booster is a specific group of hyaluronic acid-based treatments; “youth injection” is a broader name for treatments whose ingredients are chosen individually. See the youth injection page for details.

Will there be visible marks afterwards?

The small bumps at the injection points usually flatten within 1–2 days. Any bruising fades within a few days; it is best not to schedule treatment right before an important event.

Can it be combined with botulinum toxin or fillers?

In suitable patients they can be combined within the same plan – which can be practical if you are visiting Istanbul for a limited time. The order and spacing of treatments are decided at the examination.

Can men have skin booster treatment?

Yes. It can be considered for any suitable adult concerned about dryness and skin quality; the plan is adjusted to the skin's structure.
