Mesotherapy in Istanbul: A Course Planned for Each Area and Need

Considering mesotherapy but unsure which blend or how many sessions are right for you? The first step is an assessment. Dr. Nil Yazıcı plans a separate course for the face, eye area or neck – and if you are travelling to Istanbul, you can start with an online consultation.

Mesotherapy is a medical aesthetic treatment in which ingredients such as vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants and low-concentration hyaluronic acid are delivered into the skin through many micro-injections. The blend and the interval between sessions are chosen by the physician according to the area being treated and the skin's needs. In Istanbul, Dr. Nil Yazıcı plans mesotherapy after an examination, usually as a course of several sessions.

Why a physician’s assessment matters

When the physician chooses the blend and the depth

In mesotherapy, the result depends less on the needle than on choosing the right ingredients and the right depth: a blend suited to the eye area is not the same as one used on the rest of the face. Dr. Nil Yazıcı makes a separate decision for each area and, where appropriate, recommends a different option instead of mesotherapy. In short: mesotherapy works as a course of area-specific blends, while a skin booster focuses mainly on deep hydration with hyaluronic acid – our article on mesotherapy vs skin boosters compares the two in detail.

About Dr. Nil Yazıcı

Who may consider it?

Mesotherapy is considered for people with a specific need in a specific area:

  • Facial skin that has lost its freshness and looks dull
  • Thin skin, a tired look or fine lines around the eyes
  • Uneven tone and pigmentation, as part of a wider plan
  • Dryness and changes in skin texture on the neck and décolletage
  • Anyone able to commit to a course of several sessions at short intervals

What can it help with?

Dull, tired-looking skin
Blends containing antioxidants and vitamins aim to help the skin look fresher.
Tired-looking eye area
Lighter blends suited to the eye contour aim to support the thin skin there. Pronounced hollowness under the eyes may need a different approach.
Uneven tone and pigmentation
Pigmentation-focused mesotherapy can be a supporting part of a plan, alongside sun protection and home care.
Dryness
Blends containing low-concentration hyaluronic acid may be chosen to support the skin's moisture balance.

Treatment areas

Facial mesotherapy

The classic treatment for the whole face, focused on skin quality and freshness.

Eye-contour mesotherapy

The blend, dose and depth are adjusted specifically for the thin, delicate skin around the eyes.

Pigmentation-focused mesotherapy

Uses ingredients aimed at uneven tone; it is considered as part of a broader pigmentation plan, not on its own.

Neck and décolletage

These areas often show sun- and age-related texture changes and can be treated in the same session as the face.

How it works

  1. Consultation and examination

Your target area, skin type, medical history and medication are reviewed, and you discuss whether mesotherapy is the right option for you. If you live abroad, an online consultation can come first, with the final assessment in person in Istanbul.

  2. Choosing the blend and the course

The ingredients for each area, the number of sessions and the intervals are planned, and you are told clearly what will be used.

  3. Treatment

The skin is cleansed and prepared with antiseptic. The blend is delivered superficially, in small amounts, with a very fine needle.

  4. Progress reviews

Your skin's response is reviewed at every session and the blend or interval is adjusted if needed. At the end of the course, the need for maintenance is decided.

Sessions and treatment plan

How many mesotherapy sessions are needed?

Mesotherapy is usually given as a course of 3–6 sessions, 1–3 weeks apart; the effect builds up over the sessions rather than coming from a single one. After the course, many people are advised to have a maintenance session every few months. For an overview of how the treatment works, see what mesotherapy is and how it works.

What to expect, and when

  1. Treatment day

Redness and small bumps may appear at the injection points; they usually fade noticeably within a few hours.

  2. Days 1–3

Small bruises can occur, especially around the eyes; wait for the period your physician recommends before covering them with make-up.

  3. Around sessions 2–3

Most people begin to notice changes in skin texture and appearance during this stage.

  4. End of the course

The result is reviewed together, and the maintenance interval – and any complementary treatments – are planned.

Aftercare

To help your skin settle after mesotherapy:

  • Avoid make-up for the first 12 hours, ideally until the next day
  • Stay away from saunas, steam rooms, swimming pools and strenuous exercise on the day of treatment
  • Pause retinol, acid-based products and exfoliants for a few days
  • Wear a high-protection sunscreen outdoors – and every day if your plan targets pigmentation
  • Do not scratch or squeeze the injection points
  • Let your physician know about any unexpected swelling, pain or increasing redness

Limits and important considerations

Limits to be aware of before mesotherapy:

  • It is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • Treatment is postponed if there is an active acne flare, cold sore or infection in the area.
  • If you are allergic to any ingredient in the blend, the blend is changed or the treatment is not performed.
  • Blood thinners, clotting disorders and certain chronic conditions must be mentioned at the examination.
  • For pigmentation that tends to recur, such as melasma, mesotherapy is not a solution on its own; a dermatology assessment may sometimes be needed.
  • It does not correct sagging or volume loss; the effect is gradual and varies from person to person.

A short-interval course and your travel plans

Because mesotherapy sessions are spaced a week or a few weeks apart, the schedule for patients coming from abroad is built around how often you can travel to Istanbul. An online consultation before your trip and remote follow-up afterwards can be part of the plan, with help on scheduling, airport transfer, accommodation and an interpreter if you need one. Frequently asked questions

How long does a mesotherapy session take?

Including skin preparation, a session takes about 20–30 minutes depending on the area. If numbing cream is used, allow extra time for it to take effect.

When will I see results?

Mesotherapy works gradually; most people notice a change from the second or third session. The exact timing depends on the blend, the area and how your skin responds.

Mesotherapy or PRP – which is better?

Mesotherapy uses a ready-prepared blend, while PRP uses plasma prepared from your own blood. Which is more suitable depends on your goal and your health; the physician advises after the examination.

Will it leave marks?

Redness and small bumps at the injection points usually fade the same day. Small bruises can last a few days; permanent marks are not expected.

Can I fit a mesotherapy course into visits to Istanbul?

Yes, the course can be planned around your trips. Because sessions are 1–3 weeks apart, the schedule depends on how long you stay and how often you can return; this is agreed at the consultation, and follow-up between visits can be done online.

Do you also offer mesotherapy for hair loss?

Yes, scalp mesotherapy is planned separately. You will find the details on the hair mesotherapy page.

Who should not have mesotherapy?

It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with an active infection in the treatment area, or with an allergy to any ingredient in the blend. Blood thinners and chronic conditions are assessed individually at the examination.

Can mesotherapy be combined with other treatments?

In suitable patients it can be combined with chemical peels, botulinum toxin or fillers in the same plan, at appropriate intervals. The order is decided at the examination.
